Yorks in need of win: Northamptonshire v Yorkshire One Day Cup preview

Yorkshire travel to Northamptonshire in the Royal One Day Cup today, with both teams in need of a win to boost their qualification hopes.

Yorkshire enter the match sixth in the North Group, having secured just one win in their opening five games.

Gary Ballance has scored 257 runs in his four innings thus far, including 156 in the opening day victory against Leicestershire.

Andrew Gale’s side will have the pressure on them, knowing they must win to achieve a top three finish. They have an injury boost with batsman Will Fraine returning for the first time since joining them in October.

Yorkshire beat Northamptonshire by four wickets in the last meeting between the teams, with Northants hit hard by the loss of West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder.

The match starts at 1pm at the County Ground and is set to be televised live on Sky Sports Cricket.
