Wilder not getting carried away despite superb Blades form

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is taking it game-by-game this season, refusing to be drawn into contract speculation.

The Blades are sitting in eight place, one point behind Tottenham.

Wilder was asked if he saw himself as one of the clubs greatest assets.

He said: “Whatever people think about the job I’ve done, we just get our heads down as staff.

“I’m delighted that we’ve got a platform to go from, 22 points after the set amount of games that we’ve had is a really solid start and we have to build from that.

He added: “We can’t start looking ahead too far. We keep going and see where that takes us.”

United take on 17th placed Aston Villa this Saturday at 3pm.
