Vandals in Gleadless ruined the work of a community project during a break in last night.
Reach South Sheffield have appealed for information after their gardening project at the Herdings Community and Heritage Centre was almost completely destroyed.
Maria Flude, CEO of Reach South Sheffield, explained how the vandalism, including to a newly formed wood work group’s equipment and a poly tunnel, would set the project back.
“We’re all very disappointed. The project provides resources for people in the community, the break in has affected that and the work that they are doing,” she said.
“The focus now for us is just on pulling everything back together,” she added.
Police have since been informed and have taken fingerprints and footprints.
Reach South Sheffield is a registered charity based in Gleadless Valley that aims to be an active champion for the social, environmental and economic regeneration of south Sheffield.
