This weekend, the University of Sheffield will play host to the UK’s biggest annual darts tournament, the UDUK (Univeristy Darts UK) Big Weekender.
The competition, sponsored by Target Darts, will take place at the University’s Octagon Centre on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March.
The Singles Championship will take place on Saturday. The winner will be awarded £300, the runner-up £150, and semi-finalists, quarter finalists, and final 16 qualifiers will also receive prizes.
Sunday will see groups of seven players competing in the Team Championships.
The draw for both the singles and team tournaments will be made live on the UDUK page at 7:30 tonight.
In the 2016 tournament, the team plate was won by the University of Sheffield, and the team shield was won by Newcastle University. The singles winner was Loughborough’s Andy Kent.
Over 300 people have expressed their interest on Facebook in attending this year’s competition.
