Two charged with attempted murder and false imprisonment

Two people charged with attempted murder and false imprisonment appeared in Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

Gemma Muscroft 32, of 12 Hartington Road, and Nathan Liversidge, 30, of no fixed address, were both charged with the attempted murder and false imprisonment of Gemma Muscroft’s ex-partner Meredith Williams.

The alleged incident took place between the 21st and 22nd February when, the court heard, Gemma Muscroft and her current partner Nathan Liversidge, acted together and held Meredith Williams against his will before allegedly attempting to take his life.

Due to the seriousness of the offence the case has been sent to Sheffield Crown Court where the couple will appear on the 27th February so have at this point not entered into a formal plea.

They will remain in custody until that time.
