Third man charged after 19-year-old stabbed in Rotherham

A third man has been charged after a 19-year-old was stabbed in Rotherham last Wednesday.

Darren Fletcher, 24, of Beck Road, Sheffield, was charged with assault, racially aggravated damage, dangerous driving and threats to commit damage yesterday.

At around 7pm a black one series BMW is reported to have pulled up on Wellgate in Rotherham before three men got out of the car, approaching a black Audi A3.

The 19-year-old driver of the Audi is alleged to have been punched in the face and stabbed in his back.

Racist comments were made towards the people in the car, before all three suspects got back into the BMW and fled the scene.

The Audi’s windscreen was also smashed.

The 19-year-old was treated in hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.

Fletcher has also been charged in relation to an incident involving a firearm on Bellhouse Road in Shiregreen later that day.

Two men pulled up on a motorbike and allegedly made threats and demanded money from someone who lived on the street.

Fletcher has been remanded into custody until his appearance before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

Aaron Casey, 24, of Deerlands Avenue, Sheffield, and Louis Barker, 26, of North Hill Road, Sheffield, have also been charged in connection with the incidents.
