One of the world’s largest digital education firms is set to move to Sheffield as part of a multi-million pound relocation plan.
Tes Global, publisher of the world-renowned Times Educational Supplement, will open a new office and create up to 200 new jobs in the Steel City this month.
Tes Global will move in at 3 St Paul’s, an upmarket block on Sheffield’s Norfolk Street, which will be the company’s second largest office in the UK.
Rob Grimshaw, CEO of Tes Global, said he is thrilled to be moving to the Steel City, both for its central location and its reputation as a “global hotspot” for education and edtech.
“We are delighted to be opening a new Tes operation in the heart of the country, and have been thoroughly impressed by all that Sheffield has to offer,” said Mr Grimshaw.
Tes Global hosts a 10 million strong community of teachers online, offers training and recruitment services and runs one of the UK’s largest supply agencies, Vision for Education.
“At Tes, we believe in the power of teachers to change lives, and are proud to provide services that help teachers spend as much time as possible doing the most important part of their jobs – teaching children,” said Mr Grimshaw.
“We are a trusted partner to schools, helping them find staff even when talent is scarce, and we emphasize value for money compared to the headhunter recruitment agencies with which we compete.
“We help schools’ stretched budgets go further, by providing excellent recruitment services and access to the global teacher talent pool.”
Among the jobs coming to Sheffield are positions in finance, IT, data and analytics, customer services and sales account management.
