Potters fans were left unimpressed by in form Sheffield Wednesday after the goalless draw at the Bet 365 stadium on Saturday.
Stoke City Podcaster Wizards of Drivel said: “I was a bit underwhelmed by Sheffield Wednesday to be honest. Given their bounce under Steve Bruce, I had expected a really tough game, but they posed very little threat to us, aside from their offside goal.”
The Potter’s fourth consecutive stalemate has left Wednesday 11th in the Championship, three points off sixth placed Derby County.
Wizards of Drivel credited Stoke’s performance but believe they may have found a better side a way past Wednesday.
They said: “A lot of that may be due to how Stoke played – it was our best midfield performance of the season – but Wednesday seemed content to sit off us, let us have the ball, and settle for the point.
“Iorfa at right back had a poor game, leaving space that a better winger than McClean would have taken advantage of.”
However, they did recognise Wednesday’s strong defensive spine.
“We didn’t score and you have to give The Owls credit for that. Hector and Lees looked very solid and Westwood made a super save from Bojan.”
Wednesday are still only three points off Derby in sixth but Wizards of Drivel don’t fancy the Owl’s chances of making the top six.
“I don’t think they’ll make the play-offs. I think their form has come a bit late and that bounce factor will go eventually, but you never know in this league.”
