She said apprehending those suspected of committing a crime is a significant to make our communities safer, and to protect vulnerable people.
This is the first instalment in a monthly features section where the police will share details of individuals who are actively evading arrest.
Brian Buttery, 36
Buttery is wanted in connection with a burglary and robbery committed earlier this year.
On Friday 19 January, a vehicle is believed to have been stolen in a house burglary in the High Green area of Sheffield. The vehicle was later found burned out in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield.
At around 5.50pm on Sunday 21 January, a man reportedly entered the Co-Op shop in High Street, Ecclesfield, threatening staff with what is believed to be a machete, before fleeing the scene with an unknown sum of money.
Barrie Pollard, 53
Officers from Sheffield Tasking Team recovered a ‘significant amount’ of cannabis, suspected Class A drugs, and a cannabis setup from a house in Burngreave in January.
Pollard is believed to have links to this and the police are keen to speak with him about any information he may have about the drugs. Pollard is also wanted for failing to appear at court.
Jake Greaves, 32
Greaves is wanted in connection with an assault that took place around 8am on New Years Eve last year.
A 24-year-old man suffered facial injuries as a result of the incident in Park Avenue, Anston.
Greaves is also wanted in connection with an unrelated assault at a pub in Rotherham, where a woman suffered injuries. This was reported to police on 30 December.
He is known to the Dinnington area of Rotherham.
Mason Reside, 19
Reside is wanted in connection with a reported assault on 31 December in Park Avenue, Anston.
The 24-year-old man referred to above (see Jake Greaves) is understood to have been subjected to a further assault in the same location, where he was stabbed several times resulting in serious injuries that required hospitalisation.
Reside is also wanted for recall to prison. He is known to frequent the Dinnington area of Rotherham.
Thomas Steven Hancock, 27
Hancock is wanted in connection with a reported burglary between midnight and 8am on 17 January.
A burglary was reported in the Swinton area of Rotherham where a large quantity of fishing tackle, a quad bike, a mountain bike and a motocross bike were taken.
Hancock is known in the Parson Cross and S5 areas of Sheffield.
Police advise the public not to approach these individuals.
