Yorkshire Silent Film Festival kicks off in Sheffield tonight for its second year, bringing the lost art of silent film to a modern audience.
This year will see 40 screenings across 15 venues, including Leeds’ Hyde Park Picture House and the National Centre for Early Music in York.

Tonight’s film will be Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller The Lodger, accompanied by a live orchestra.
The festival will be at Abbeydale Picture House all weekend before moving to Hull on Monday.
