Sheffield TV star seeking sponsorships to feed the homeless this Christmas
A Sheffield TV star is raising money to give the homeless people a Christmas they’ll never forget.
Dan Hatfield, of Channel 4’s Posh Pawnbrokers, is aiming to feed hundreds of people in the area by fundraising £2000.
He is hosting a sponsored ‘sleep out’ on the 8th of December, where, alongside his sister Cherise, he will sleep on the streets to raise awareness and money for the cause.
Former world boxing champion and Sky Sports presenter Johnny Nelson will be joining the siblings in a bid to raise funds.
A ‘coat drop’ will be set up on the night for the public to donate their unwanted clothing.
I’m sleeping on the streets 8/12/16 to raise funds to feed 100s of homeless this Xmas. Please RT & donate #9daystogo https://t.co/DlckhJHqun

All proceeds from the nights will go towards the fundraising campaign.

Mr Hatfield wrote on his JustGiving page: ‘Our last event saw over 10,000 people and that got us thinking! Imagine if we could attract as many people again for our Christmas event on the 16/17th and 18th of December and use ALL profits towards making some of the most vulnerable in society’s Christmas special.
‘You can support us either by sponsoring us for our night on the street or coming to our event at 861 Ecclesall Road S11 8TH. Alternatively you could do both! Remember guys it’s cold this time of the year and you can do your part by giving just a little.’
If you wish to donate to the cause or get involved in other events, more information can be found on the JustGiving page here. Alternatively, visit the Street City website at http://www.streetcityevents.co.uk/.
