Sheffield Teaching Hospitals win award for catering

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust won two awards at the Health Service Journal Awards in London last night.

Andrew Cash won the Chief Executive of the Year Award while the award for Improving Environmental and Social Sustainability went to the Hospitals’ catering department.

The department fought off competition from seven other hospital initiatives to bag the trophy at the O2 InterContinental Arena.

To be considered the department had to demonstrate the ambition, outcome, spread, value and involvement of their scheme. The award was created to recognise systems that are changing the way they work to makes themselves environmentally, financially and socially viable now and in the future.
