Sheffield pays tribute to Keith Flint after his death and The Leadmill will host a mental health fundraiser in response

Tributes have been paid across Sheffield to Keith Flint, frontman of dance music group The Prodigy.

A special tribute will take place at nightclub The Leadmill this Saturday, where a set filled with the group’s most popular releases will be played.

A statement issued by the club says they are “absolutely devastated” to hear of the news.

They said: “Keith Flint has inspired many of our staff here at The Leadmill with his riotous reputation, and talent in crossing multiple musical genres. Keith was an absolute legend of the music scene who will be missed by many.

“This Saturday at The Leadmill we will be paying tribute to his legacy with a set of The Prodigy’s biggest dance and rock anthems.”

There will also be the opportunity for club goers to donate to local mental health charity Sheffield Mind throughout the night.

On social media, tributes were paid from across South Yorkshire and beyond.

Corporation Sheffield said of Keith: “You entertained us, you scared old ladies, and you moved music forward to a massive degree.”

Tickets for Saturday’s tribute will be available in advance and on the door.
