Sheffield bar offers free pints for voters

A Sheffield bar is offering free drinks for those who can prove they have voted.

Brewdog Sheffield is giving out a free pint to anyone who shows them a selfie in front of the polls or an email confirmation of a postal vote.

Savva Lambrou, 24, Brewdog Key Holder, said: “It’s an incentive to get people interested in politics even if it’s just something small.

“If people are exercising their right to vote, that’s a good thing. We won’t judge them on who they voted for.”

Lydia Parkin, 25, Duty Manager, said that voters can get a free Punk IPA or Vagabond. Alcohol-free beers Nanny State and Punk AF are also on offer.

Step into Brewdog on Devonshire Street to claim a free pint

In the past, Brewdog Sheffield ran this scheme for the 2017 election and had a high turnout.

Phil McCue, 19, Student, said: “I think its brilliant for increasing engagement.”

“Nothing gets people talking more than free stuff,” said Mr Lambrou.

“If people exercise their right to vote by getting a free pint out of it, then what better way to do it?”

Brewdog is based on Devonshire Street and is open until 12am.
