We’re now well in to that most glorious time of year when the halls have been decked, everyone is doing their best to be jolly (despite, you know, 2016) and the mulled wine flows like the salmon of Capistrano!
What’s also inevitable at this time of year is our annual trawl through online and high street retailers searching for the perfect gift ideas.
Well, search no more. We’ve compiled a list of some of the finest products Sheffield has to offer over this festive period.
Whether you’ve meticulously planned your xmas assault or you’re leaving it all until the very last minute our guide will help you find some of the most unique gifts made by Sheffield independents for that extra special touch this year.
1. Sheffield Skincare Company
The Sheffield Skincare Company have been around for a while now and Sheffield natives may be familiar with their shop on Crookes High Street.
The company is owned and founded by Megan Beardsmore, who is passionate about making handmade, natural and ethical skincare products.
They have a special offer running today where anyone who checks in to the shop on Facebook will receive 10% off in store, so what better time to pop in and pick up a few stocking fillers.
2. CAST Sheffield
CAST are a relatively new outfit who are causing quite a stir by combining the unlikely bedfellows of food and jewellery.
They partner with local independent restaurants and cafes to tailor bespoke menus for diners to munch on while expert silversmiths teach them how to make a silver ring, which is then minted and their to keep forever.
This Christmas they have been trialing DIY kits which they hope will take the spirit of the live events and transfer it to home.
Kits range from £90 – £145 and gift cards are priced at £80.
3. Second Thread
For the fashion conscious females in your life there is a new name in town this Christmas.
Second Thread has opened it’s first store in the Basement of the newly redeveloped Kelham Arcade on Burton Road.
Their debut collections include pieces from Neon Rose, Motel, Lavish Alice, Lola May and Oeuvre and are fabulous enough to upgrade even the dourest of wardrobes this winter.
New customers can get 10% off online by using code AW10.
4. Koppla Av & Sheffield Mobile Massage
Koppla av is Swedish for ‘relax’ and ‘unwind’.
And that is exactly how your loved ones will feel if you treat them to a pampering session with this mobile massage service.
The perfect gift to start the new year with a little indulgence.
Gift vouchers are now available so why not treat that special someone to the gift of relaxation?
5. Farmers Belgian Blue
Once the massage is over what finer way to end the day than with a couple of pints of Bradfield’s finest, Belgian Blue.
Little else needs saying about the ever popular Farmers Belgian Blue, other than it’s bloody lovely and it wouldn’t be Christmas without it!
Oh and it’s made from blueberries, ooh err.
Order a keg here while you still can.
6. Mr Pickles Food Emporium
Mr Pickles Food Emporium has a wide range of Christmas food and drinks gifts, including The Sheffield Honey Company, Sir Robin of Locksley gin and Charlie’s Country garden, all of which are from Sheffield.
They are particularly proud of their bespoke Hamper service (pictured above).
Choose your friend or loved one a basket and pick all the yummy food you can fill with it, and hope they share the goodies with you.
7. Geo Law
Geo Law is a Sheffield artist based out of the S1 Artspace.
He likes to blend references such as comic books, computer game characters and popular culture in to his art and is often found creating murals inside office spaces using his signature style.
