Serious slash attack leaves police looking for suspects and witnesses in Rotherham

Police in Rotherham are appealing for information after a man was found with serious slash wounds yesterday.

The 31-year-old was found with ‘serious injuries’ outside a property on St Mary’s View in Greasbrough at noon.

The man was taken to hospital with wounds to his neck and left arm and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 39-year-old and a 51-year-old, both from Greasbrough, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody.

An investigation has been launched and the police have asked for anyone in the area at the time to get in touch.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Mark Oughton said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident which left a man with horrific injuries.”

He said two people remain in custody but believes there are other outstanding offenders.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation however we do believe this to be a targeted attack,” he added.

Officers remained at the scene and carried out house-to-house enquiries and patrols in the area.
