Both of Sheffield’s Prezzo restaurants are set to close as part of the company’s bid to save the business.
The locations on Ecclesall Road and Valley Centertainment are two of four being closed across Yorkshire.
94 outlets are due to close across the UK with hundreds of jobs at risk, but Prezzo have stated they will try to find new jobs within the business for those affected.
This is part of the company’s decision to enter into a company voluntary agreement (CVA) where it agrees to pay its debt at an affordable monthly rate.
Sky News sources claim they would also try to negotiate reductions in the rents of their remaining restaurants to cut costs.
Prezzo also plans to close all 33 branches of their Tex-Mex chain Chimichanga.
These closures come during a difficult period for Britain’s high streets as Toys R Us and Maplin headed into administration last week, which may affect more than 5,000 jobs.
