Police seize £136,000 worth of cannabis in Burngreave raid

Police cracked down on a cannabis farm in Burngreave and seized 136 cannabis plants yesterday.

They made two arrests after finding £136,000 worth of the Class B drug, and also dismantled the drug den.

Unlicensed production of cannabis could carry a prison sentence up to 14 years or an unlimited fine.

Although cannabis is illegal to possess, grow, distribute or sell, the UK has recently taken important steps to utilise its medical potential.

Last week the country imported its first-ever shipments of bulk herbaceous cannabis from the Netherlands and cannabis oil from Canada as part of its medical marijuana programme.
