Police appeal for Rotherham murder witnesses

South Yorkshire Police are looking for two potential witnesses of a murder in Rotherham.

John Methley, 39, was assaulted by two men at 6.23pm on 4 February on the Midland road roundabout at the junction of Garden Street and New Wortley Road in Masborough.

Mr Methley was left unconscious with serious head injuries and never regained consciousness. He died from his injuries on Sunday 10 February.

Officers are now keen to talk to a man and a woman believed to be in the area at the time of the assault.

They have also released CCTV images to help identify the pair.

The woman in the images appears to be wearing a jacket with a fur hood, a skirt and knee high boots, carrying a large, dark-coloured handbag. She is believed to have been walking from Wortley Road towards Midland roundabout before stopping to speak to the man.
