Owls boss under pressure ahead of South Yorkshire derby
Sheffield Wednesday face Rotherham United on Saturday after a string of poor performances, and manager Jos Luhukay may be fighting for his job as a result.
Wednesday have lost six out of their last eight Championship fixtures, only managing a 0-0 draw against rivals Sheffield United since early October.
After a 4-2 thrashing from mid-tabled Blackburn last weekend, the Owls’ poor run of form has escalated into a full-blown crisis.
It was revealed today that star player Fernando Foristieri will be out for at least six weeks after a hamstring injury sustained against Blackburn, mounting further pressure on the manager.
Wednesday’s chairman, Dejphon Chansiri, has announced he will host a fans’ forum at Hillsborough in a fortnight to address supporters’ concerns.
Meanwhile, Rotherham go into the game two spots above the relegation zone, despite a recent draw against Sheffield United.
The South Yorkshire derby is likely to be hotly contested, with both teams struggling for form.
