A Barnsley man has been sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to two burglaries.
David Kenneth Milner’s DNA from his blood was found at the scene of both crimes after he broke into two houses in November last year.
Milner, of High Street, Royston, stole items including jewellery and a television.
The 50-year-old entered a guilty plea at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 2 March and was given 5 years behind bars.
Police Constable Oliver Williams, of Barnsley Criminal Investigation Department, said: “Burglary is an incredibly intrusive crime and a priority for us here in Barnsley. It can leave people feeling unsafe to be in their own homes and can rob them of irreplaceable sentimental items.”
“We will always do whatever we can to bring those responsible for burglaries before the courts so that they can be held accountable for their crimes,” he added.
