Magid Magid to host leaving party at Plug

Sheffield’s unconventional Lord Mayor Magid Magid is set to host a massive party at Plug next weekend to celebrate the end of his tenure in the ceremonial role.

Since the 29-year-old made the announcement yesterday, tickets for the event have been selling fast.

AlexMcKinnon, the promotions and marketing manager at Plug, said: “We’re incredibly excited that we have been chosen by the Mayor as the venue for his leaving party on 11th May.

“Magid will be donating all entry donations to his chosen charities for what should be a fun-filled evening of questions, music and more.”

The night will begin with an ‘in conversation’ component, swiftly followed by funk and soul DJs.

All profits of the event will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Fund, which are Sheffield Flourish, Sheffield’s Women and Counselling Service and Unity Gym Project.

After stepping down as both Lord Mayor and councillor this week, Magid is set to stand in the upcoming European elections for the Green Party.
