Sky Sports pundit and former footballer Jamie Carragher has been suspended by the broadcaster, after a video showed him spitting towards a girl from his car.
The incident occured after Carragher covered Liverpool’s 2-1 loss at Manchester United for Sky on Saturday.
A statement from Sky said the broadcaster “takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie’s actions.
“We have made that clear to him in person today and suspended him from his duties.
“It falls well below the standards we expect of our people.”

The video showed Carragher waving towards a driver, who wound his window down saying: “Unlucky Jamie lad 2-1, 2-1.”
Carragher responded by spitting in the direction of the car, hitting the 14-year-old girl in the front passenger seat.
The driver recording the video then said: “Jamie Carragher spat on my daughter, nice.”
The ex-Liverpool player has since apologised for his actions, which he said were a result of being “goaded 3/ or 4 times along the motorway while being filmed.”
It remains to be seen whether Carragher will keep his job with Sky.
