Images released for man wanted over pug theft

A man suspected of stealing a pet pug from a garden in Sheffield has had his image circulated by South Yorkshire Police.

Daisy the pug was taken from her Greenhill garden pen on Friday 9 November while her owner looked after her children inside.

Police have now released CCTV footage of the man seen in the garden and who is believed to hold key information related to the crime.

The man is seen trying to entice the dog out of her pen before picking her up and fleeing the garden.

South Yorkshire Police tweeted: “Can you help find Daisy? CCTV images released after pug stolen from #Sheffield garden.”

This comes less than a month after another five-month old pug was stolen from Sheffield Road near Killamarsh, after he escaped onto the main road and was picked up by someone in a car.

A facebook appeal has been launched in an attempt to find Daisy and shared over 800 times but no one has been in touch with information.

Daisy has been described as more like a family member than a pet and the owners are desperate to be reunited with her.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 and quote the crime reference number 14/165179/18
