England Cricketer Joe Root secures future at Yorkshire

England cricketer Joe Root has secured a new deal with Yorkshire securing his future with the club until 2019.

The 25-year-old is the second highest rated batsman in the world and is tipped to be the next England captain.

Root told the Daily Mail: “I’m delighted to be committing my future to Yorkshire. Even though I don’t play as much as I would like for Yorkshire these days due to international commitments, I still get a huge buzz wearing the white rose on my cap and representing my county. I couldn’t see myself playing cricket for any other county.”

Yorkshire’s director of cricket Martyn Moxon couldn’t hide his joy after securing Root for another three seasons.

“I’m delighted that Joe has signed an extension.

“He has made tremendous strides over the past few years on the international scene and is now up there amongst the best players in the world,” he told The Daily Mail.
