A flower shop in Doncaster has won ‘best dressed window’ for a creation of wheels and flowers to celebrate the start of the Tour de Yorkshire.
Doncaster Council launched the best dressed window competition to allow shop keepers in the town to get creative and welcome the world’s elite cyclists to the area.
The competition was divided into three categories:
- Best dressed business window overall
- Best dressed business window town centre
- Best dressed business window along the route
The shop, Flowers by Kerry Gough, located on Wood street, won best dressed window in the town centre.
The window creation was smartly made out of cycle wheels, flowers and bunting.
Kerry Gough, owner of the shop said: “I entered the competition run by the council as it was a fantastic opportunity for local businesses in the town.
“It promotes the Tour de Yorkshire and Doncaster.”
The Tour de Yorkshire kicked off today starting in Doncaster and finishes on Sunday in Leeds.
