League Two club Chesterfield said they have so far received almost 30 applications for their vacant position of first-team manager.
The Yorkshire club- relegated to the National League- have been without a manager since Jack Lester was sacked last month.
The Spireites sit rock-bottom of League Two and are preparing for life in the fifth tier of English Football.
Director & company secretary Ashley Carson said: “We have received some extremely high quality applications for the role and we will select at least six to eight candidates to interview.
“A shortlist of three will then be presented to the owner of the club, Dave Allen.”
The club’s deadline for applications is 5pm on May 3.
