Armed Sheffield robber stopped by police who’d gone ‘to buy a drink’
An armed man in Sheffield has been stopped mid-robbery by officers who were out getting a drink at a local petrol station.
The man, who has been detained by police, was attempting to rob the City Road Station in the South East of the city just after midday yesterday.
South Yorkshire Police’s Operation Support tweeted about their chance encounter;
One detained for armed robbery, City Rd @SYPSheffield. Just robbed shop as officers went to buy a drink. Disarmed and arrested. Enq ongoing
