Age UK have released their top tips outlining how you can help vulnerable people vote.
The charity said for many people, going out to vote can be difficult, whether due to social mobility, physical disability or mental health issues.
Here are their top tips:
– Accompany someone to the polling station and try to ease their anxiety as much as possible.
– Remind them that the sun will set at 3:41pm today, so that they’re not heading out in the dark. Encourage them to leave earlier rather than later.
– Even if you can’t go with them, help them plan their route ahead of time. Help them check bus routes, locations of bus and tram stops and use a maps app to help them plan the safest journey possible.
