19-year-old man found dead in abandoned Sheffield hotel

The body of a 19-year-old man has been found in a derelict Sheffield hotel.

South Yorkshire Police say that the death at the former Hallam Tower hotel is being treated as unexplained.

Police say that they were called at 4.14pm yesterday afternoon after the body was found in the Fullwood Road building, Broomhill.

“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers,”  statement said.

“At this time, the man’s death is being treated as unexplained.”

The hotel closed in 2004, and the building has remained abandoned. In 2016 the building was damaged in a fire.
