Sheffield University and Sheffield Hallam have come together to organise “Dream Bigger Dreams” science fair at the Winter Gardens, which aims to improve the lives of the South Yorkshire people through science. The fair started at 10:30am today and will continue throughout the half term week.

There are plenty of activities, which will excite and educate both adults and children. People can experience the wonders of science with the torso challenge and DNA deconstruction as well as other science based events put on by Sheffield Volunteering. There is even a stall where kids can make masks of what they will look like in 40 years time. Unsurprisingly this wasn’t the most popular activity for the adults.

Greg Oldfeild, External Relations Manager at Sheffield University, says it involves “going out in Sheffield and South Yorkshire and trying to promote the universities in terms of things you can come along to do that aren’t a course”.

Who said learning wasn’t fun!
