Sheffield libraries are celebrating the bicentenary of Charles Dickens's birth by giving away 15,000 free copies of Oliver Twist.

Similar events are happening across various cities in the UK and London had a similar campaign last month.

You can collect your free copy from the Central library throughout May.

Inspire

Alex Holyoake, leader of the initiative is hoping this campaign will bring more young people into literature and will inspire more people to read in Sheffield.

Finn Miles, JUS News reporter had a chat with Alex to find out more about the book and what the campaign is all about.

He said: “It’s easy to read and zips along; lots of things are happening and so many interesting characters”.

You can find out more by visiting the library service blog here.
